ChildFund Plus Physicians for Peace Equals Some Relief for Haiti

A powerful equation and force for relief, the blending of two important organizations, ChildFund International and Physicians for Peace, will support Haiti along its arduous path of recovery from the terrible earthquake of last year and the cholera epidemic that has equally decimated this poor little struggling nation.

Physicians for Peace have been given a $500,000 grant by ChildFund the funds of which are slated for many recovery efforts including but not limited to: providing custom-fitted prosthetics, medical equipment and a summer camp for disabled children.

In the words of Anne Lynam Goddard, president and CEO of ChildFund International:

“… Natural disasters such as the earthquake in Haiti create terrible situations that put already vulnerable children in grave danger. Working with Physicians for Peace means that children and others with disabilities will receive the support they need and reinforces ChildFund’s commitment to creating positive outcomes and lasting change for vulnerable children.”

ChildFund has been in operation for more than 70 years. The coalition with Physicians for Peace and its effective hands-on medical education, clinical care and donated medical supplies provide an arsenal of weapons to help Haiti combat its most terrible situation of compounded natural disasters.
